Tired of all the "regular" Fender Hot Rod Deville amplifiers? You know. The factory built, store bought ones, that have that scratchy overdrive? And harshness that just doesn't sound warn, full, saturated, and wonderful?
Like a modified Ford LTD wagon, built for racing, this amplifier only looks like a normal Hot Rod Deville, it features a single full time 5U4 tube rectifier, that gets all the warm "tweed" tones from the 50s type Bassman, but with a modern channel switching capability, to obtain great overdrive tones, as well as classic warm clean bell like tones, with reverb.
Power to the tubes is more than 500 volts, the power tubes are biased to deliver the 60 watts of output the amplifier had originally.
Parts throughout the amplifier have been changed and upgraded to deliver reliable, powerful tone for hours on end, utilizing a dual power transformer design.
One runs the amplifier circuits, the other is horizontally located on the main chassis and runs the power tube heaters and tube rectifier, and creates the high dc voltage necessary to run the 6L6 tubes.
incredible amount of sound is delivered through this un- assuming amplifier, and it is prepared to give your Mesa Boogie a serious run for it's money.
Specifically created for the best clubbing tone experience.
Posted is my journey along the way, of various changes that needed to occur, such as additional holes for air flow, creating a place on the chassis for the power transformer, and the additional tube socket next to the 6L6 power tubes.
I have created many modifications to these amplifiers, through the years, and had time to perfect these , in my estimation this is taking things to next level tone and performance.
