Selling a vintage Crumar Performer analog string / brass synthesizer from the late 1970s. This is a rare and quirky Italian string machine with lush analog ensemble strings, a brass section, simple hands-on controls, and a great vintage character.
I originally heard about this synth through indie artist and recording studio legend John Vanderslice. It has a really cool personality compared to more common string synths — offbeat, vibey, and inspiring.
The Performer is especially known for its string sounds: warm, chorusy, slightly dark, and very usable for recording. Great for synth pop, post-punk, ambient, indie, film-score textures, 70s/80s sounds, and anyone looking for something with more character than a modern plugin or digital string patch.
