This guitar started out as a Squier Paranormal Series Esquire Deluxe. Essentially, a 1 pickup telecaster with a wide range humbucker in the bridge (ala 70s Tele's, hence Deluxe). I bought this as a personal project. I upgraded the pickup with a proper wide range humbucker from Revel Custom Pickups. I upgraded the neck to a Fender Official Roasted Maple 50's Modified Esquire neck which features a fat 50's U profile, 22 vintage tall frets, and a bone nut. I added locking vintage-button tuners and nickel dome knobs. The assembly was all done at Five Star Guitars, as well as an additional fret dress on the neck as the fretwork was not satisfactory to me out of the box. The chicken head knob selects between normal operation (volume and tone), single-coil splitting, or direct output (bypasses volume and tone, adds a small boost and a little more top end).
It's a killer guitar, plays really great, sounds fantastic clean and driven. I called it my mean little rock machine. I'm just at a point where it's a guitar that doesn't fill any holes in the collection and I have my eye on a shiny new bass. I've put over a grand into this thing, and while I do feel it's equal to the sum of its parts, I'm also realistic. No trades, reasonable offers considered. If you want to come try it out please bring your own amp as the only one I have at home is literally the crappiest little amp ever.
I'll throw in a Fender FE620 gig bag for another $40.
Pick up only in Arbor Lodge neighborhood (near N Lombard & Denver).
