The Fund for the Public Interest is a national nonprofit that builds the people power it takes to win hard-fought campaigns and make real change on some of the most important issues of our day. Right now, the Fund is hiring activists to work on campaigns for America's leading grassroots action groups - here in Portland, we're working with OSPIRG on a public health campaign to stop the use of RoundUp the weed killer made by Monsanto. The World Health Organization has labeled the main ingredient in RoundUp as a probable carcinogen. In fact, a school groundskeeper who claimed that RoundUp caused his cancer, recently won a lawsuit against Monsanto. Despite these risks, we still spray 26 million pounds of RoundUp on public parks, schools, playgrounds and gardens. That is why we are working to stop the use of RoundUp in Oregon until independent research can prove that it is safe.
We know that Monsanto will pull out all the stops to keep their product on the market. We need to build public support until independent research can prove that it is safe.
We're hiring campaign staff to help build the public support and the resources that it will take to win and protect our public health.
We're hiring for both leadership and entry level positions. Apply today to help make change happen, or call for more information!
