Compensation: $18 - $21/Hour, commensurate with skill and experience
Description: A welcoming local Congregation seeks a highly organized Office Administrator to join the team at our dynamic Synagogue. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter, a team player, and natural organizer who is detailed and methodical. Responsibilities include managing the administration of the Congregation, assisting with some fiscal management and processing, supporting our clergy and Board, and assisting in the implementation of events.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to initiate, manage and complete multiple projects.
Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

• Maintain organization of office materials and records
• Purchase items as needed & advised
• Maintain and manage databases
• Plan and implement programs, large and small, for the community
• Support childcare staff and parents with administrative needs
• Provide support with Capital Campaign
• Administer and manage various aspects of building maintenance
• Assist clergy with administrative and other tasks
• Receive and process payments for membership and programs, as well as donations
• Work with staff to send out statements, track payments, and follow up as necessary
• Help to manage and organize volunteers for projects and programs
• Run mailing campaigns including liaising with designers and printers, running mail merges, and any other tasks associated with a successful mailing campaign.

• Assist in production of marketing material, including proof reading, printing
• Answer phone and check messages; check mail
• Update online community calendars (such as Jewish Federation and Oregon Jewish Life calendars)
• Manage Social media accounts to promote Synagogue and Synagogue programs and foster engagement
• Update website
• Create emails and maintain email database as necessary (Constant Contact)

• Assist with Synagogue programs, including general publicity, administration, managing ordering, and assisting staff and volunteers with set up and clean-up of events.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment
• Ensure that details of each program are accounted for

Recommended Qualifications:
• Positive attitude
• Team Player
• Comfortable speaking on the phone and maintaining positive communication
• Demonstrates interest and ability to help in multiple roles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Experience with Social Media
• Experience with e-mail marketing platforms, particularly Constant Contact
• Familiarity with cloud-based databases (proficiency in Salesforce a plus)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Organizational Skills
• Comfortable with numbers, accounting knowledge a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience creating and running programs
• 2 + years experience in administration
• B.A. or B.S. from an accredited College or University
