We are seeking one more roommate for our quiet house in SE portland. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 3 of us here already. Sorry there’s no space for pets or couples. Single, adults only household please. There is plenty of communal space, a large kitchen and backyard with room for gardening. Rent is $775 per month with first month’s rent and a security deposit. We currently have one room available, so there will be a maximum of 4 people total occupying the house.
The downstairs bedroom is bright with tons of privacy and a nearby bathroom that's generally yours alone as other household members use the upstairs bathroom primarily. It's a nice room.
The upstairs bathroom is a large bath with both a separate shower and a jacuzzi tub. It's shared with the other 3 people who live upstairs.
The second bathroom located in the downstairs is very private exclusively for your use.
Beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house.
The house is centrally located close in just 4 blocks off Powell and Cesar Chavez (39th Ave) in SE Portland. Easy access to Hawthorne shops, PSU, downtown, Reed College, OCOM... Trader Joe’s, Gladstone Pizza, and Salt and Straw for ice cream fans :-)
It's a great 100+ year old classic house, with lots of light streaming into the large living room and dining room. Parks are within walking distance, and also the ever trendy Hawthorne area is nearby. Excellent access to public transportation, the #9 bus heads directly downtown, and the #75 bus goes to the Hollywood transit center, so it's easy to catch the MAX as well.
The room for rent is very quiet and private.
The rent is $775 per month, plus 1/4th shared utilities: gas/electric/internet/water, yard and garbage. On average, your portion of the monthly utility bills can cost approximately $150.
First month’s rent and security deposit are due on move in, note the security deposit can be pro rated over a 3 month period in order to make the initial move in costs more affordable.
We are a middle aged couple who have owned the house for 35 years. We're quiet, drug free, and not adverse to cleaning. We're looking for roommates like us in this regard, and ideally roomies who are easy to communicate with. There will be 4 adults total sharing the house.
This is not a house for parties or overnight guests.
No smoking of anything (including vaping), this includes no smoking anywhere on the premises, no pets, and no drugs. No couples as space does not allow for more occupants than we currently have.
This is an owner occupied property.
Willingness to clean, recycle and use utilities conservatively is a plus. Passion for a quiet, harmonious living environment is also a plus.
The lease is for a 1 year term, and may be renewed after that term is up.
