Cascadia is expanding its Safety Specialist (Security) program to all four of our Health Centers.
Three positions currently open:
Monday through Friday Days in NE Portland
Monday through Friday Swing in SE Portland
Under General supervision, the Safety Specialist is responsible for all aspects of staff and client safety at Cascadia's Health Centers, while supporting a trauma-informed care environment. With the high prevalence of trauma among individuals receiving mental health services, it is required the Safety Specialist understand the effects of trauma on health, coping, and other aspects of the lives of those we serve. The Safety Specialist is also responsible for the security of all Cascadia property, vehicles, and real estate at the Plaza site.
The job incumbent is required to be certified by the State of Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training, (DPSST), as an Unarmed Security Professional. The Safety Specialist will not perform safety/security duties without first having completed DPSST Unarmed Security Professional training and certification.
The Safety Specialist must maintain current DPSST Security Professional certification to retain employment in this position.
Previous experience in safety/security and familiarity with behavioral and mental health environment is preferred
Knowledge of behavioral and/or mental health
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and properly use AED equipment. CPR/ First Aid certifications are required and must remain current.
