I am a retired teacher and principal. I have done tons of housesitting, including all over the metro area, in Washington. and even months in Costa Rica. I am an engaging, helpful tutor, particularly with middle and high school kids needing support. especially with writing and homework completion. I am also a trained and ESL teacher happy to work with adults needing support toward fluency. I love to organize projects, proofread and edit, and cook. I prefer a walkable neighborhood with some historic architecture, cafes, restaurants, shops, good mass transit.
I live pretty quietly. I am a big reader, NYT in the morning, fiction escapes at night. I write children’s picture books, blogs, poetry, often on the themes of a more caring and just world. And I am recently more and more connected to the art world helping with my friend's new nonprofit gallery.
