ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
‒Are you interested in being a part of a software project designed to help industrial facilities around the US save energy?
‒Do you want to join a small collaborative agile team, using technologies such as React and Node.js alongside architecture that includes microservices, containers, and lambda functions on AWS infrastructure?
‒Do you enjoy a focus on Back-End and DevOps work, but are interested in maintaining exposure and involvement across the full stack?
‒Do you value caring, diversity, open-mindedness and humility in your teammates?
‒Are you a life-long learner who delights in sharing knowledge with others?
If your answer is yes, then we would like to talk to you about joining our team and about our web-based Energy Management Collaboration platform called SENSEI®.
Cascade was founded in 1993 by three friends who saw the need to focus on and help industrial customers save energy. Today, we are almost 160 team members strong with offices across the U.S. We offer energy efficiency program design, implementation, engineering, energy management services, energy tracking software, and hands-on training and coaching.
We help industrial facilities manage their energy use by working directly with utilities and their customers, as well as directly with corporations. We believe that technology, and specifically our software platform, provides greater impact. Our software product is SENSEI®, a web-based, custom-built Energy Management Collaboration System (EMCS) that helps our employees, clients, and partners gather, visualize, and act on live and historical energy data.
Our teams are a reflection of our core company values, which are: do the right thing; put others first; seek shared success; learn constantly; and be industrious.
At Cascade we enjoy a healthy work-life balance with a team that supports each other and puts people first. We are inclusive of people from a variety of identities and backgrounds, and our staff is about 40% women (above average for the industry). You’ll likely find this opportunity attractive if you care about your team, love to learn new things, are open-minded and humble, and are excited to work with a group of committed peers on an on-going project to help make energy efficiency happen.
As a part of our team, the most important qualifications are shared values, positive attitude, enthusiasm for the work, and an aptitude for learning. Knowing AWS and Node.js is a leg-up, but it's not a requisite if you are willing and able to quickly learn. You would be a great fit for this position if you:
• Are familiar with build systems, micro service architecture, and cloud infrastructure
• Have an enthusiasm for learning and are curious about technology
• Are humble and delight in helping others to succeed
• Are generous with feedback and openminded to diverse perspectives and viewpoints
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

These include health (90% paid for team member, 80% paid for dependents), vision, FSA or HSA options with an employer contribution, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance, 401k retirement plan with both a guaranteed 3% contribution and a profit sharing contribution, annual cash performance bonus, (8) paid holidays per year, paid vacation time, and paid sick time.
Our team enjoys a flexible work schedule in a professional yet casual environment in the historic Eastside Exchange building, surrounded by windows with great views. We are close to transit and provide a free, annual Tri-Met Pass, subsidized parking in our lot, indoor bike storage, plus locker rooms with showers. We walk the talk about our learning constantly value, with a commitment to the ongoing development of every team member, and a tuition reimbursement program.
