We are a successful and growing deck company with an opening for a carpenter's assistant. We work on a structured comission basis so you can expect to average $20/ hour to $30 an hour if you are proficient. Our top payed assistant made $1,940.76 during the last two week pay period and he only worked 75 hours. So that is $25.87 an hour for a helper, not bad. If you are new to construction and not as fast, you will still make a minimum of $16/ hour if you don't earn a bonus. We only work in the Portland metro area and we don't require working on the weekend, we also have a great staff of employees. You must not be afraid of heights and be mechanically inclined. We can train you on the finer details you may not know, the primary necessity is that you have a good attitude and can learn on the go, you must also have a driver's license and vehicle. You will be working alongside one lead carpenter so you need to understand the basics of carpentry. There is a lot of opportunity to grow here for the right candidate. Respond with a letter as to why you think you are the right candidate for the position, either a resume or description of your work history, and what area you live in.
