We are seeking a part-time WordPress Developer join our team. The right candidate will be talented, passionate and capable of assisting with the design, development, testing, deployment and management of exceptional websites. Day-to-day tasks include converting Photoshop/Invision layouts into standards-compliant websites, as well as updating and maintaining existing client websites. It’s a challenging and rewarding role where ownership and responsibility are given in return for ideas and dedication.
This is a part-time, hourly, on-site position of up to 30 hours a week (with the possibility of transitioning to full-time status in the future) — perfect for an individual with other commitments or for whom a flexible work schedule would be an advantage. Must currently live in the Portland, Oregon area.

Develop custom, responsive WordPress websites, from simple informational sites to complex e-commerce builds and multi-sites using clean, logical, well-documented and reusable code.
Help shape project development decisions using best practices and accessibility standards.
Provide timely resolution to reported problems with existing websites.
Manage a WP Engine hosting environment that supports nearly 100 existing WordPress sites, including regular plugin updates and backups.
Establish and guide website architecture, project priorities, timelines, scopes and costs.
Work in a local environment and push to staging/live as needed.
Test plugin / theme compatibility before and after PHP / server upgrades.
Interact and collaborate with others to solve problems.
Work unsupervised when needed and remain self-motivated.
Communicate well with coworkers and clients.
Maintain strong attention to detail.
1 – 3 years of experience:
WordPress: Creation of custom post types, Bootstrap/Foundation framework, standard plugin understanding (Visual Composer, Gravity Forms, Advanced Custom Fields, Yoast, Revslider)
eCommerce: WooCommerce, including payment gateways, basic API integrations, data imports and shipping set-up
Server management: Domain control panels, DNS, website testing and launch, email/Mx record management and troubleshooting
Understanding of command line utilities such as Git, Yarn, NPM, Composer
Comfort with additional tools of the trade: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and other online applications for tasking, support tickets and time tracking
Good understanding of cross-platform and cross-browser issues as well as latest industry trends
Bonus points if you have an eye for design and detail
