Part-Time QuickBooks Bookkeeper (Hillsboro, OR)

QuickBooks Bookkeeper - Part-Time

Portland non-profit organization whose vision is to engage, inspire and educate generations on the splendor and complexity of our Earth, is seeking a highly-experienced QuickBooks bookkeeper to work on a part-time basis.

The position requires approximately 24-28 hours per week, over four or five days, Monday through Friday.

We are in need of a part-time Bookkeeper to work as part of a two-person finance team that is continually building systems and improving processes in an effort to build a rock-solid finance operation. If you'd like to do your accounting work in a flexible educational setting and be a part of a team, building a foundation for the future, then we've got the job for you.

Applicant must be proficient and have experience with QuickBooks, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Payroll, Inventory, Bank Reconciliations, Financial Statements. Knowledge of the Square POS System would be a plus. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the Office Manager and Executive Director.

Roles/Responsibilities:
-General accounting (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, monitoring cash expenditures)
-Coordinate and facilitate payroll process with Office Manager
-Communicate with staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their programs
-Maintain the Accounts Payable and Receivable records and accounts, update Inventory
-Prepare invoices, Receive Payments, make Bank Deposits.
-Maintain up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records

Requirements:
- Knowledge of generally-accepted accounting principles
- Proficient in QuickBooks, Google Docs, Microsoft Excel and other basic computer skills (Word, Email, internet)
- Very organized and systematic nature
- Fast learner and independent worker
- Great communication skills, a clear & straightforward style
- Technically sound and confident with new technology

Ideal Candidate will:
-have 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
