We host dynamic hands on classes truly complete the circle from a farm to table perspective.

Take home and prepare a meal for your family from an animal you harvested during the class.

We can teach on large animals such as calves, cows, hogs, alpaca, sheep, goats and we can also teach on small animals such as chicken, turkeys, geese, ducks, chukar, quail, and rabbit.

Pay for the cost of your Meat Share and save by butchering it yourself.

Cows, lambs, goats, alpacas, and hogs harvested are $2.50 lb (based on their live weight) with a $250 minimum per animal that is not yet 100 lbs. If they are over 100 lbs, add $100 kill/quarter and your hands on lesson is included in that price as well as disposal of unwanted items which are generally, the guts, and trotters, sometimes head if you do not wish to keep the head, unwanted bones and the hide. If they are less than 100 lbs add only $60 kill/quarter and your lesson is included in that price.

These harvesting lessons do NOT include packing and wrapping. So bring a cooler(s), plastic bags, and zip lock bags as well as ice to keep the meat cool as we break it down. We teach the location and removal of back strap, tenderloin, which are the most sought after pieces, then, you could either send the rest off to a professional butcher to have it processed packaged wrapped and labeled, or you may also debone all the meat for here at the farm for easy transport and grind it yourself at your house. We do NOT have a meat grinder for public use. You may bring your own meat grinder here to get it all done in one location. We also recommend you bring your own knives as our butcher lesson public knives are not the greatest tools for the job.

For an extra 10$ you may bring all your straight blade knives for a sharpening, so you can go home with knives that have a fresh edge.

Add $50 per hide for an hide tanning opportunity. Here at our farm we do our part to minimize the amount of waste that is created. So the hides will be used in our hide tanning classes which are also available for those that are really conscious about utilizing every part of the animal.

Meat Rabbits, chickens, and quail are generally $20 each and the lesson is also $20
Large birds such as Turkey, Duck, and Geese are $9/lb each based on their live weights and the lesson is $35

Sign up/ Register for classes anytime and schedule a one on one lesson, then take home your bounty for dinner.

Group rates available. Great family bonding activity and circle of life lesson for children.

Liability waivers must all be filled out and we do recommend a farm visit before the harvesting begins. All harvesting is done in open air, great outdoors, and NONE of this process takes place in a certified inspected facility.
