Raleigh Park After School Care in SW Portland is seeking an Afterschool Teacher. Hours are
M-F, 2:30-6pm with the exception of Wednesdays which begin at 1pm. Raleigh Park After School Care is a non profit and licensed Child Care Center that has been operating at Raleigh Park Elementary since 1983.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with school age children after their school day by providing art projects, cooking club, yoga club, games, homework help and more!

TITLE: Afterschool Teacher
PAY: $16 an hour with paid sick time and vacation time
START DATE: August 27th, 2018

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Set and maintain appropriate standards for children's behavior using non-punitive methods that promote development of problem solving skills and support self-esteem
Provide careful and concentrated supervision of 15 children while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of Developmentally Appropriate practices for School Age children.
Create and collaborate with other teachers to plan fun and educational theme based activities and projects.
Maintain a positive working relationship with children, co -workers, and the staff and families of Raleigh Park.
Commitment to completing 18 hours required annual professional development and child development training, by attending workshops and conferences. Cost paid by Board of Directors.
Maintain current Child Division Central Background Registry, Food Handlers, CPR/1st Aid certifications, and professional development hours in Oregon Registry Online(ORO)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Mobility sufficient to move about the school and assure the safety of young children.

QUALIFICATIONS
1 year of qualifying experience supervising school age children in a Certified Child Care Center.
Experience designing and implementing activities for children (K-5th grade) in childcare or educational settings.
Enrollment in Oregon's Office of Child Care Central Background Registry.
Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse Training, current First Aid and CPR Certification, Food Handlers card or ability to complete within first 60 days of employment.
