Overview of the position:
This is a 19.5 hours/week position for the remainder of the 19-20 school year.
Facilitate a learning environment that includes helping and managing each student’s access to their personalized, web-based language tutorial program (Rosetta Stone©) in order to practice their world language skills. The Facilitator will set up 30 minute, weekly language tutorial sessions for every Grade 2-5 classroom. The Facilitator will use the world language (Spanish or Chinese) as the instructional language during this time with students. The Facilitator will work under the supervision and direction of school staff in creating the space, schedule and conditions for these weekly sessions. Chromebook and Rosetta Stone© training will be given at the onset of the school year.
An employee in this position is expected to have the ability to maintain a climate of learning and have the ability to use own initiative in responding to student’s learning needs.
Native Language or Fluency Preferred (Spanish)
Experience with technology (laptops, headphones, internet)
Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with students as well as fellow teachers;
Access and use electronic communication;
Appropriately respond to and direct students;
Maintain confidentiality in all phases of work, i.e. student interactions, meetings, student and parents rights.
Completed (or enrolled in) College diploma/degree or international equivalency.
Salary Range: $25.00
