This transplanter uses a coulter shoe arrangement that was designed for heavy soil with a 32" coulter in the front, followed by a suction point subroller tooth bolted to a 14" deep shoe. This arrangement allows for the planting in sod or worked condition. There are direct gauge wheels that provide very accurate planting spacing and depth control. This machine also has very large pockets for handling plants up to 30" in length. This planter comes with two extra large plant boxes (supply for those planting), cushioned seats (comfy for those planting), foot rests, weight brackets for adding additional weight, and a three point hitch.
We used this for two seasons to plant bareroot trees. The machine just isn't a good for our property, but we're glad that we gave it a try. The planter is still is great shape, well-maintained, and has always been covered when not in use.
New ones go for about $12-13k with freight. https://www.elitemetaltools.com/tool-shop/products/mechanical-transplanter-ct-12-christmas-tree-planter?sku=CT12&srsltid=AfmBOoqTy2F5pZWG9cn6lmBx74T_SsYS9vSNisMjxD1c2i_zeLtK5iIt
