After muuuch consideration, my husband and I have decided we need to find a good home for his heart horse…
We’re putting feelers out to find him a new home, and will keep him if we have too.. we’re not in a rush and We’ll be picky as we looove this horse.
His name is Rudy, he is 17 years old, and is an appendix gelding! 17 hands tall at the back, 17.2 at the withers.
Rudy spent this summer doing a LOT of traveling, being a travel companion for two of my geldings! He has been everywhere, and absolutely loves to explore.
We walk him for 15 minutes everyday to get him moving. He thrives on pasture with a million friends!
He has always gotten along with all of the horses we’ve ever put him with, as he is the LOWEST on the food chain.
He was a lesson horse and cow horse in his day, but is over the knees and as he gets older has really bad arthritis.
We’re selling him as a companion horse.
He has the softest eyes, and kindest soul. He is one of a kind.. we’d love for him to find his forever home.
We want a buy back contract as I don’t want him flipped around…
We’re asking 1500, negotiable, as well just want him in a good loving home.
He’s a pretty easy keeper, hay is his biggest cost as he eats a LOT of it. I’ve always free fed my horses. So he always has hay… he eats about 8 flakes a day total. I start off with 3 in the AM, 1-2 for lunch/ late lunch, then 3-4 more before I go to bed for the night.
He is supplemented with MSM and glucosamine, as well as horse guard.
He can be ridden at a WALK, with injections every 4 months!! He has made the best kids horse honestly. He’s so big he gives them the confidence!!!
He bathes, loads, ties, stalls, stands for the farrier and vet, He’s my golden retriever! I loove this horse. He doesn’t really have any cons as far as personality goes!!
However, his lameness is his biggest flaw.
