This is a 4-valve compensating euphonium. It does have a handful of dents, consistent with normal use, but it plays well and has been very reliable. I’ve primarily used it in a classroom setting. I recently purchased another euphonium, which is the reason I’m selling this one.
The instrument was professionally cleaned about a year ago at Beacock Music. There are absolutely no signs of brass rot, and the valves are in great condition.
A couple of notes regarding the 4th valve:
The 4th valve button is missing
The 4th valve cap is loose
To compensate, I’ve been using a rubber band attached to one of the tubes while playing. Both of these are straightforward repairs that any music store should be able to handle easily.
This instrument would be a great fit for a middle school or high school player looking to own their own compensating euphonium.
