WINERY TASTING ROOM ASSOCIATE : DUNDEE
Small, family-owned Dundee Winery is seeking tasting room associate(s). We seek experienced wine talent. Preferred candidates will have experience in Wine and/or Restaurant and/or Hospitality and/or high-end Retail.
We are seeking people who are friendly, smart, hard-working, quick learners, dependable, and honest.
This is a position that has many, many facets, and so the ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to changes according to business levels, time-of-day rushes, and to quickly, easily, and seamlessly balance the wants and needs of the winery and its customers.
Specific job duties may include, but are not limited to:
Manage all aspects of a boutique winery tasting room, guide/direct/inspire guests and co-workers.
Serve wine (flights and by the glass) and describe the wines to the comfort level of each guest- whether beginner or expert.
Be able to answer guest's questions as to other wineries, local restaurants, hotels, B&Bs, and area attractions.
PROMOTE AND SELL THE WINES IN A CONFIDENT, BUT NOT-PUSHY MANNER.
PROMOTE AND RECRUIT WINE CLUB MEMBERSHIPS
Answer phones, accurately take orders and messages, help walk-in guests with directions or advice.
Maintain the orderliness of the tasting room and perform light cleaning duties as time allows.
Operate cash-register/point-of-sale system accurately.
Assist with Wine Club fulfillment, assembly, and shipping of wine.
Assist at off-site wine events/festivals, etc
Be diligent and prepared for The Zombie Apocalypse. If it occurs while you are on duty, you are to assist in securing the perimeter, repel Walkers, gather supplies, conserve ammo, and promise to mercilessly take-out co-workers if they get bitten.
Maximum availability for scheduling. Weekend and early evening availability is MOST important.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to multitask and manage high levels of stress.
* You must be able to work well with others AND be able to work alone with no drama.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and possess or be able to get an Oregon Server's Permit.
