I saw this and the design reminded me of those Saarinen tables!
This is quite a cool design. It has that pneumatic part that allows the chair to go ups and down. All you have to do is push the rounded disk under the seat to adjust the height.
If you want to stand at your desk, this is exactly the right stool for that. Because the base is rounded, you can kind of lean the stool to adjust the angle of it as you have your weight on it.
The IKEA Nilserik standing support chair adjusts in height from a minimum of 51 cm (approx. 20 inches) to a maximum of 71 cm (approx. 28 inches). This 20 cm range allows it to be used as both a high-stool and a standing support for various desk heights.
